Last updated 20 August 2026
By using Iliad · Odyssey you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The publisher is Valentin Dodonov, reachable at capital93@gmail.com.
The texts
The Iliad and the Odyssey are ancient works in the public domain. Samuel Butler’s English (1898) is also in the public domain. You may copy those texts for any lawful purpose.
The transliteration software, layout, PDF generator, and original commentary on this site are provided for personal study and teaching. You may not scrape the site in a way that harms its availability, or present the original commentary as your own.
No academic warranty
Lineation, spelling, and alignment can differ from a given printed edition. Butler is a literary prose version, not a word-for-word school crib. Do not rely on this site as your only witness for examination or publication.
Donations
Donations are voluntary gifts to help run the site. They do not buy extra features, ownership, or editorial control. Card payments are handled by Stripe. You may cancel a checkout before you pay.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site to break the law, attack the service, or inject harmful code. Automated harvesting that ignores robots.txt is not allowed.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date at the top of this page is the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
